An adorable and very scarce toy – the Bing Trippel Trapple dog, known simply as “Doggy”. The toy was made by Gebrüder Bing in Nürnberg, Germany around 1907-1912, during the height of the ‘teddy bear revolution’. At the time, Bing was the largest toy producer in Europe and was producing stuffed bears and animals, and became very famous for their mechanical toys .
Designed as a pull toy on wheels, this delightful Tripple Trapple is made of mohair and straw-stuffed. His legs are have a metal frame with wheels, and doggy is fully jointed. He has shaggy light brown mohair fur, a black spot over each eye, black black ears, glass eyes and a black stick nose and mouth. The endearing expression on this precious dog’s face is absolutely lovely.
